Some people, including Jūshirō Ukitake, have noticed a resemblance between Ichigo and Kaien Shiba, the former lieutenant of the 13th Division. After training in the Dangai, Ichigo’s hair grows longer and he becomes noticeably taller. However, when he loses his Shinigami powers, his appearance reverts back to its previous state.

Seventeen months after defeating Aizen, Ichigo’s overall appearance remains mostly unchanged, but he grows taller once again and develops sideburns. Upon regaining his powers, which seems to be caused by residual energy from his Fullbring, Ichigo’s Shinigami attire undergoes some modifications. He now wears a thicker strap across his chest and has four black vertical lines on his forearms. Additionally, there are black tattoo-like bands that cross over his chest, wrists, and ankles. Around his neck, he wears collars with white ends.

After training at the Soul King Palace, Ichigo dons his standard black shihakushō with notable changes. He now has two white shoulder plates that form an X shape across his chest to hold his Shikai blades in place. The first plate on his left shoulder is adorned with three sections of red scales, while the second plate on his right waist also has three sections of red scales. Additionally, he wears a white cloak with black markings tied around his waist.
